About Me
Since graduating from Wellesley College in May 2020 with my Bachelors in Philosophy and Spanish, I have been building my experience in the field of education. During the summer of 2021, I began offering in-person and remote private tutoring services in multiple subjects based out of the Greater Los Angeles area. In January 2022, I transitioned from private tutoring to private education upon accepting a contracted Long-Term Substitute Spanish teaching position at The Archer School for Girls (1/22-4/22). Starting in September of 2022, I worked as a Library Assistant (9/22-8/23) at The Archer School for Girls. As of September 2023, I have been fulfilling a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship grant in Asturias, Spain.
As a lifelong, dedicated learner and educator, I focus on finding joy in the learning process, connecting genuinely with my students, and making learning accessible. In my work, I aim to simultaneously grow students' personal confidence and maximize their academic potential. Through my personalized approach I have found students are more comfortable speaking up in class and often perform at a higher level in class and on assignments.
Per my experience as a classroom teacher, I have found many of my strategies and materials useful for students and integral to learning. Please read below to learn more about my tutoring philosophy.

tutoring approach
I am happy to accommodate any of your tutoring and/or academic coaching needs. My clients have a variety of needs and goals, varying from subject-specific tutoring, test/assessment targeted tutoring, honing organization and studying skills, and more. Some students are unsure of what they might need during the first session, but I am happy to have an open, continuous, and fluid dialogue where the student and myself can talk about their needs and goals.
My overall goal as an educator is to strengthen a student’s confidence in all aspects of their academic lives. I meet students where they are and address their concerns in ways that work for them and the way they learn. As a result of working together, I hope to have helped students develop healthier academic habits, improve their academic performance, and bolster their overall confidence.

Additionally, as a teacher and tutor I heavily employ Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in my pedagogy. Proven to improve academic performance, confidence, relationship-building and decision-making skills, overall emotional well-being, and more, I believe SEL is integral to the classroom and any sort of academic instruction. Through asking students about how they are, creating charters for what we want a session or class to look like, and more, we as educators can help our students become better overall citizens to the world and people to themselves.
first session
-
Upon confirming the first appointment and receiving reviewed/signed Student/Tutor Agreement and Parent (Guardian)/Tutor Agreement, I will follow-up with the client the day of booking for specific material from the student (ex: specific workbook pages, problems, etc) that they want to work with in the first session.
-
With the material from the student, I will create a plan/guide for the first-session, free of charge.
-
-
Upon meeting with the student, I will go through the prepared guide and work on the targeted material.
-
At the end of the session, I will ask the student (and/or parent) if they would like any additional resources after the end of the session.
-
Any material I prepare or provide/source after the session (study guides, quizlets, worksheets, etc) will be charged at an $85/hr rate. Before completing said work, I will re-confirm with the parent via email, enumerating the task to be completed by me and the rate. Click here to learn about my rates and pricing system.
