cancellation & absence policy

virtual appointments

  1. notified absences: If the student has a scheduled tutoring session and the student is unable to make the tutoring session due to a scheduling conflict/other premeditated reason, please cancel and/or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time at no charge. Failure to give at least 24 hours notice will subject you to a full-charge for the session.

  2. last-minute absences: If the student has a scheduled tutoring session and the student is unable to make the tutoring session due to an extenuating circumstance, please cancel and/or reschedule your appointment as soon as possible (preferably at least 3 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time). For the first instance, this will incur no charge. For further instances, failure to notify me within 3 hours of the meeting time will subject you to a full-charge for the session.

tardiness policy

virtual appointments

If the student is running late to their appointment for any reason please contact me as soon as possible with your estimated sign-on time. Failure to sign on within 15 minutes of the start time of the session will subject you to a full charge for the session. Exceptions may apply for unforeseen circumstances, including technical difficulties (please see absence policy above for further details).

illness policy

virtual appointments

If a student is sick for a virtual appointment, please use your own discretion upon cancelling/rescheduling/attending the session.

student preparation policy

virtual appointments

Students must be prepared with their materials at the start time of each session; ideally, the student will also have a general plan and/or goals for the session. Should the student need any materials from me, please let me know 36 hours in advance and I would be happy to provide any appropriate materials.

tutoring agreement

The tutoring agreement describes expectations for students, parents, and the tutor. The document must be reviewed and signed by each party (parent, student, and tutor) before the first tutoring session. Please see details below.
